Troubleshooting Tips

Photos won’t upload?  Having trouble with video?  Here are answers to some frequently asked questions.

My photos won’t upload:

Any previous image needs to be deleted completely.  When an image is completely gone, an ‘upload photo’ message will appear in the photo box – only then can a new image be uploaded.  If the image is just a white square, this indicates that unseen data is still saved.  Please click the ‘delete’ button until the ‘upload photo’ text appears in the image box.

Often your photo needs to be resized to 640 x 480 pixels to upload properly.  Currently, if a photo is larger than 1000 pixels in any direction, the system will send an error message.  Please try resizing your photos to a smaller image size.  Refer to your photo editing software for instructions.

On occasion, the upload time is too long and the system times out.  Please try to upload one image and save it before adding captions or attempting to upload another photo.

And rarely, the file is corrupted and needs to be saved in a different format.  It can be hard to tell if this is a problem, as the photo will often appear as a normal image on your computer.

I’m having trouble uploading a video:

Include an informative and brief business description of 75 words or less in the description field when you add your video.

Make sure the frame rate of the clip you upload to Kudzu.com is 14 frames per second or greater.  You’re probably okay and shouldn’t worry if you don’t know what “frames per second” (FPS) means since the FPS for your video clips generally will default to a rate higher than 14.

Put your business name in the title field when you upload the video.

You can upload videos in these common formats: MPEG, MP3, QT, WM, and Real.  Please limit the size of the video to 35 MB.

Whether professionally-produced or homemade, your video should show off the type of service and quality you offer.  If you already have a digital version of a recent television commercial, we take those, too!

I can’t find my profile on Kudzu.com:

Newly registered profiles take 24-48 hours to appear on the Kudzu.com website.  Any changes, edits or additions you make to your Kudzu profile also take 24-48 hours to update on the site.  Please make sure you have allowed enough time for your profile to publish.

Kudzu.com search results are powered by keywords.  The keywords are linked to the answers you selected for the Specialty questions on your profile.  If, for some reason, the Specialty answers are not selected, the keywords cannot connect to your profile, so you do not appear in the keyword search results.  However, you are still published on Kudzu.com, and consumers can find you by business name.  Please log in to your Business Center to make sure your Specialty questions are properly selected.

I can’t log in:

From the Kudzu.com home page, there are three links in the top right corner: Log In, Register, and Business Log In.

1. Log In gains access to the consumer membership portion of Kudzu.com and requires an email address and password.
2. Register gains access to the registration page for consumer membership.
3. Business Log In is where merchants go to access their business accounts.  Business Log In requires a user name (rather than email address) and password.

The link to Log In can occasionally be confused with Business Log In, so please make sure you are clicking to the correct page.

Login information, including username, password and email address are case sensitive.
